595 kWp Rooftop Solar PV Plant Commissioned for Hager by Alligator Solar
595 kWp Rooftop Solar for Hager Electro Private Limited | FM Global–Engineered, High-Performance System
In this video, Alligator Solar showcases the commissioning of a 595 kWp high-performance rooftop solar PV plant for Hager Electro’s manufacturing facility at Chakan MIDC, near Pune. Designed and executed to FM Global standards, the system delivers safe, efficient, and reliable clean energy, helping Hager reduce grid dependency, control power costs, and advance its sustainability goals.
Alligator Solar has commissioned a 595 kWp high-performance rooftop solar PV plant engineered to FM Global standards, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable long-term operation.
Hager Electro Private Limited is a leading international manufacturer of electrical distribution systems, with its India facility serving both domestic and export markets. Like most energy-intensive industrial plants, the Chakan site faces rising grid tariffs and increasing pressure to decarbonise operations without compromising productivity. The investment in rooftop solar was therefore an economic and sustainability-driven decision, aimed at reducing daytime energy costs while cutting Scope 2 emissions.
The 595 kWp rooftop system is designed to offset a significant portion of the facility’s daytime electricity consumption. By generating clean energy at the point of use, the plant helps hedge against tariff escalation, stabilise operating expenses, and align with broader global climate commitments. Over its lifecycle, the installation will significantly reduce grid dependency and deliver measurable carbon emission reductions.
A key differentiator of this project is its design and execution to FM Global standards, one of the most stringent benchmarks for industrial risk management and asset protection. The engineering approach incorporated detailed attention to structural integrity, wind uplift resistance, fire safety compliance, and cable routing, ensuring seamless integration with the existing rooftop infrastructure.
The plant has been engineered for high efficiency and dependable long-term generation. From module selection and inverter sizing to string configuration and protection systems, every design decision focused on minimising losses, simplifying operations and maintenance, and ensuring consistent output under real-world conditions. Remote monitoring and performance analytics provide clear visibility into:
- Daily and monthly energy generation reporting
- Performance ratio tracking and system health monitoring
- Inverter-level and string-level event diagnostics
- Data-driven insights for proactive maintenance and optimisation
Executing this project within an active manufacturing environment required disciplined project management and strict safety adherence. Construction activities were carefully planned to minimise operational disruption while maintaining Hager’s operational and EHS standards.
For Hager, the new rooftop solar plant represents more than an infrastructure upgrade—it reflects a clear commitment to responsible and sustainable manufacturing in India. The facility now benefits from lower daytime energy costs, enhanced energy resilience, and a reduced carbon footprint.
For Alligator Solar , the successful commissioning of this project reinforces its position as a trusted partner for complex, standards-driven industrial solar installations, demonstrating strong engineering expertise, execution excellence, and long-term asset performance capability.
With the project now operational, Hager’s Chakan MIDC facility is set to generate clean electricity for years to come—transforming underutilised roof space into a productive asset while setting a benchmark for safe, reliable, and sustainable industrial energy solutions.
